Weather and Climate – Remember it! & Test it!

‘Weather’ and ‘climate’ are different things.

The UK has a temperate climate because of the gulf stream.

The earth’s tilt is responsible for winter and summer.

Depressions bring rainy, blustery weather and often storms.

In winter, anticyclones bring colder temperatures and frost.

In summer, anticyclones bring hot, dry weather.

Most scientists believe the world is getting warmer.

Most scientists believe mankind is mostly to blame.

Most scientists believe global warming needs to be tackled.

Global warming will affect everybody, directly or indirectly.

We can all help to tackle climate change.

Some top tips!

1. Print out the Test It! Questions – it will allow you
to replicate exam conditions and also allows you to
give your eyes a rest from the computer screen whilst
doing your crucial revision.
2. Make a copy of the Remember It! Section and put in
a place that you often look at. i.e. front of a journal,
next to a mirror, on a kitchen cupboard door, etc.
That way you can do some cheeky geography
revision whilst doing those things you have to do!
