An Open Day is a great way to find out exactly what a university can offer you. You’ll get to chat to the lecturers and current students and find out all about the subjects that interest you. Here’s what you can expect from our Open Day: Welcome talk – our Deputy Vice-Chancellor will give you a warm welcome to Huddersfield. Campus tours. Watch live course talks, learn about module options and placement/sandwich opportunities. Accommodation – explore your accommodation options and go on an accommodation tour. Student support – find out all about the support available to you including finance, disability and wellbeing, and careers. Chat to our students – get the lowdown on student life at Huddersfield. Come along with your family and friends, to get a good feel for life as a student. Don’t forget that when you book your Open Day, you’ll have the chance to pre-book your sessions.

Our on-campus events will give you an opportunity to: – Learn more about our courses – Meet our staff and students and ask questions – Take a tour of the campus and visit our accommodation – Learn more about our support services, student life and more.

Our careers in maritime open day will give you an insight into what a career in the maritime industry has to offer, and the training programmes to qualify as a ship’s navigation (deck), engineer or electro-technical officer in the Merchant Navy and on superyachts. Many of the major British shipping companies and recruitment and training companies who recruit cadets will be available to give information about the career opportunities they offer. Our teaching staff are also on hand to talk about the academic side of training. You’ll also be able to take a tour of our campus and residences, join a variety of general presentations and speak to our teams about accommodation options, applying and enrolling, student support, funding and much more! The programme of events will be sent to you in advance.

Our general Open Days cover our Foundation course and our BA (Hons) degree programmes. We have a specific Open Day for Masters and PhD/Research courses. All dates can be found here in the ‘Open Day dates’ section on this page.

Our Open Days are a fantastic opportunity for you to get a feel for studying with us, whether you attend an on-campus Open Day or watch a virtual talk from the comfort of your own home – we’ve got you covered. Our main Wrexham campus is available to tour, as well as our nearby School of Creative Arts. Prospective students can also visit our Northop campus for natural science courses.

This Advice Morning is ideal for students looking to undertake one of our Higher Education (Degree), Further Education (School Leaver), 14-16, Work Based Learning or Short Courses. Support staff from our Admissions, Finance, Accommodation, Apprenticeships and Inclusive Learning teams will be available throughout the morning. You only need to register the student interested. More information about this event will be posted here closer to the time.
