Financial Support
There are a generous range of scholarships and fee and accommodation discounts available at Newcastle University. There are also non-repayable grants available and on-campus finance guidance and support. Bursaries are available, based on household income. The system is linked to Student Finance England, meaning you don't have to apply for a bursary as your household income details (given as part of your student finance application) will be passed on to the University, who will then work out whether you are entitled to a bursary or not.
The newly refurbished Newcastle University Student Union offers over 200 student societies and sports clubs, there are also media opportunities with The Courier (the weekly student newspaper), Newcastle Student Radio which broadcasts 12 hours a day and TCTV (The Courier Television). There is also a top-class fitness centre and sporting facilities, resulting in Newcastle having finished in the top 15 of the 146 British Universities and Colleges over the last six years.
Students are advised to register with a local GP, while Chaplaincies of all faiths are available across the city.
