Ashton-under-Lyne Sixth Form College was first established in 1980. Located in Greater Manchester, it takes over 2000 students, most of whom are accepted from the two secondary schools in Ashton-under-Lyne, as well as from the larger Tameside area.
You can find the Ashton-under-Lyne Sixth Form College near Mossley Road (A670) near the junction with Queens's Road (B6194), close to Tameside General Hospital. The college is the major provider of academic and vocational education in the area.

The Geoff Higgins Building houses purpose-built classrooms for Children's Care, Learning and Development, and Health and Social Care students. Here you will also find the Learning Resource Centre which has computers for students and silent study areas.
The old library has also been re-developed as a 160-seat lecture theatre for guest speakers and events. At Ashton-under-Lyne Sixth Form College you won't have a problem accessing your work on the college network of over 600 PCs.
Specialist equipment is also available to use in the expressive arts department. Here you can find digital cameras, digital video cameras and iMac computers with Final Cut Pro editing software.
The college also offers a wide range of sporting activities as part of their enrichment programme.
