Address and Location
Once located at Hyde Park Corner, St George's has since moved across London to Tooting. All of the college's teaching facilities are contained on one site, which comprises St George's Medical School and St George's Hospital.
ÂBackground and History
St George's was the second specialised medical school to open in the UK, and can trace its heritage back to 1733. Originally based at Hyde Park Corner, expansion and refurbishment of college facilities eventually proved insufficient to cope with London's growing population; in 1980 the university and adjoining hospital moved to a purpose-built site in Tooting, South London.
