The Conservatoire for Dance and Drama was founded in 2001 and is a publicly funded higher education institution that is made up of 8 different schools: Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Central School of Ballet, LAMDA, London Contemporary Dance School, National Centre for Circus Arts, Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
