Yeovil College is a tertiary institution and further education college based in Yeovil, Somerset, England with about 9000 students enrolled. It also caters for higher education students by providing university-level courses in conjunction with the universities of Bournemouth, Gloucestershire and UWE.

 

Background and history

The College was first formed in 1887 when Somerset County Council began formally organizing Science and Art classes in Yeovil. In 1947 it became a technology college under its first appointed principal and later, in 1974 it became one of the earliest tertiary providers of education in the UK.

Location and accessibility

The college provides transport support by offering discount bus passes to its students. They also run a bicycle hire scheme, with costs £40 to rent, with a £75 deposit (with the option of forfeiting if you wish to keep the bike).Maps and further information concerning travel to, from and between campuses can be found on the college website.

What's on offer?

Yeovil College provides education for 16+ students with qualifications including: A-levels, GCSEs, BTEC Diplomas and the 14-19 Diplomas. The College also offers a variety of part-time courses and apprenticeships, as well as business training and short courses for adults.In addition, foundation and higher degrees are available thanks to the college's partnership with several prominent universities in the South West.
