Wirral Metropolitan College is a state-funded provider of further education, situated on three main campuses on the Wirral Peninsula. It offers its services to 16,000 students and recently underwent a £14 million redevelopment.

 

Background and history

The college's roots go back to 1855 with the establishment of the Birkenhead Arts School. Wirral Metropolitan College, in its current form, was formed in 1982 when all the further education colleges in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral were amalgamated.

 

Location and accessibility

The campuses are located in the recently redeveloped Wirral 'Leisure Peninsula' and benefits from excellent transport facilities and infrastructure. Merseyside Travelwise deals with transport in the area. What's on offer?

Wirral College has a range of courses, offering qualifications from Foundation Level all the way through to Degree level, including BTECs, A-levels, NVQs, GCSEs and BA/BSc degrees.
