Wakefield College is a Further and Higher Education provider in West Yorkshire, with over 15,000 students enrolled at the institution. It operates from three major campuses and has a host of learning centres situated across the county.

 

Background and history

The college has provided education to the Wakefield area since 1868 and has expanded over the years. In the 1950s, it was known as the Wakefield Technical College becoming the Wakefield Technical and Arts College in the early 1960s and the Wakefield College of Technology and Arts in 1973. In 1974, it became administered by the City of Wakefield.

There are 465 courses available to students wishing to study at Wakefield College with qualifications including AS/A Levels, BTECs, HNCs and HNDs and honours degrees. There is plenty of opportunity to study traditional A/AS level subjects, as well as vocational and work-based courses and programmes.
