The Royal Agricultural University is a university specialising in providing students with qualifications in the field of agriculture. Located just outside of Cirencester in Gloucestershire, the university specialises in teaching agricultural expertise to students interested in a career in the agricultural industry. The university offers a range of science degrees; these provide students with a solid grounding in agricultural and agri-business practices.

Background and history

Established as the Royal Agricultural College in the 1840's, the institution was created as a way of innovating farming practises and developing qualifications in the field of agriculture. Improving agricultural practises and developing students into qualified members of the agricultural industry has been at the heart of the RAU's remit from its inception. Since 1984 the institution has been awarding degrees, and it gained full university status in 2013. It continues to specialise in training students in, and researching into, areas of agriculture, agri-business and land management.

 

What's on offer?

The university offers a wide range of BSc degrees, as well as MSc and MBA options. This, combined with a range of foundation degrees, provides students with a variety of higher education options as an avenue into a career in agriculture.

Entry requirements range from 240 to 300 UCAS points.
