Newcastle College was ranked, in the Department for Education league tables, as the best performing general FE college in England for 16-18 year old achievement for three years in a row from 2010 - 2012. In 2011 Newcastle College Corporation was awarded Foundation Degree Awarding Powers (FDAP) making Newcastle College one of only two college's in the UK who have the ability to validate their own Foundation degrees.
