About Blackpool and the Fylde College

The Blackpool and the Fylde College is one of the largest in the country. There are four major campuses, the largest of which is situated between Blackpool and Fleetwood in Bispham. It opened its £10 million university centre in 2009. Teaching at this centre is spread across two sites: one at Palatine and one at Park Road.

Facilities at Blackpool and the Fylde College

Academic Facilities:The main Bispham campus has a wide range of learning facilities. There is a contemporary and purpose-built business centre, the UK's first Gaming Academy offering a realistic casino environment, a stylish yet functional learning resource centre, Early Years' and Hospital Ward' training rooms and an Automotive Academy complete with an MOT testing centre. There is also an Aviation Academy with its own Piper Cherokee and a Construction Centre with two full-size detached houses.

Other facilities at the main campus include a bakery, a small shop, a travel agency, a hair and beauty salon and an office services shop.The University Centre also has a fully-equipped gym, a sports hall, an all-weather floodlit pitch, a main refectory, a chill-out zone and two training restaurants.

The college is well known for its supportive and friendly environment. It has specialist welfare services as well as a chaplaincy.
