About Truro and Penwith College
Truro and Penwith College is located in Cornwall and welcomes students from the age of 14 years and upwards. It is rated as one of the best colleges in the country. It was the first Further Education or Tertiary College in the UK to be awarded Designated Outstanding Status' by Ofsted. Truro College opened in 1993 and merged with Penwith College in 2008.
Truro and Penwith College is a member of the Combined Universities in Cornwall partnership and the Plymouth University partner college network. It is the top non-selective state school for the International Baccalaureate in the UK, and in the top five of all state school providers of the IB nationally. Two of its students got the highest marks in the country for their respective A Level subjects, English Language and Law, in 2012.

Facilities at Truro and Penwith College
Restaurants - Truro and Penwith College has three restaurants across the county. Each restaurant provides a training facility for professional cookery students or those interested in pursuing a career in catering or the service industry. Since opening, Senara (Penwith campus) and The Bistro (Truro campus) have received excellent reviews in the local press and continue to provide a quality dining experience. Riverview Cafe (Haven House, Truro city centre) is run by students with additional learning needs and is a valuable work placement opportunity. It has recently achieved a remarkable third in a row Gold Cornwall Healthier Eating and Food Safety (CHEFS) award.
LRC - The Libraries are the single biggest resource at the college where traditional printed resources sit alongside the expanding electronic provision. There are open-access computers in each IT area with access to a wide range of software and staff to support you.
IT - The College has a large number of computers capable of using an extensive range of software available for students to use on a drop-in basis. Each building has an IT area with staff who can support you. There are laptop benches in Mylor and Kenwyn Library where you can use your own equipment with Wi-Fi coverage to pick up the internet.
