General information

SRUC provides a network of research, education and consultancy services across Scotland and the north of England. The institution has six campuses at Aberdeen, Ayr, Broxburn, Cupar, Dumfries and Edinburgh and exists to deliver comprehensive skills, education and business support to Scotland's land-based industries.SRUC prides itself on its world class and sector-leading research.

SRUC offers the opportunity to study part-time or full-time Degree and Higher National courses in a range of subjects relevant to land-based, rural and environmental expertise. The institutions degrees are awarded by the University of Glasgow and the University of Edinburgh.

SRUC has courses in the following subject areas:- Agriculture- Business- Environment and Countryside- Applied Science and Technology- Sport, Tourism and Outdoor Pursuits- Horticulture and Garden Design.

On each of the six campuses, there are good learning resources and lots of open space which can be utilised during the hands-on learning approach.The Aberdeen campus has its own organic farm in addition to the several owned by SRUC across the country.

There are on-site sport and fitness facilities at all of the campuses except Edinburgh, where students are able to use those owned by Edinburgh University. SRUC enters competitive sports teams in competitions in which they compete against other higher education institutions.
