North Warwickshire and Hinckley College is a Further Education provider with main campuses in Nuneaton and Hinckley. It caters to around 26,000 students, ranging from school leavers, adults and HE undergraduates, and recently opened several new campuses in 2011.
Background and historyThe College began life in 1910 as the 'Nuneaton Technical College' and the 'Nuneaton School of Art' respectively. It relocated after the First World War and in 1923 became the 'County Mining and Technical School' in 1932. In 1952 the Art School was amalgamated with the College to form the 'Nuneaton Technical College and School of Art' and in 1958 the main campus was relocated to Hinckley Road where it currently remains. Up until 1996 the institution was known the North Warwickshire College of Technology and Art until the merger with Hinckley College led to its re-branding as North Warwickshire and Hinckley College.
Location and accessibilityMost of the college's campuses are located in and around the town centre of Nuneaton, thus benefiting from good transport links in the form of road, bus and rail. However, it has further learning centres towards Bedford and Atherstone and subsequently, the college provides a handy map detail the extent of its reach throughout the county. Students can collect bus passes for Arriva and Stagecoach Services from College. There is also a free shuttle bus between the two main campuses.
What's on offer?The college specialises in vocational, industry-based courses, but provides additional education in the form of professional courses, Higher Education and apprenticeships.
The college has purpose-designed facilities for many of its work-based programmes.
Finance funding
The college has a dedicated financial support department that deals with issues surrounding tuition fees, exam fees, travel, materials and childcare.

Sport Fitness is provided in the form of the gym and fitness suite, with a full class timetable and facilities staffed by highly-trained professionals.
Glebegate Restaurant is the college's local training restaurant within which all of the meals are produced and served by award winning students and staff.
The College Shop is located on the College's Nuneaton Campus providingBusiness students the opportunity to gain experience in a real work environment. It sells a range of snacks, gifts, stationery, jewellery and toiletries.
The college has excellent football and gaming academies located on its campuses, offering NVQ qualifications as well as practical-based training.
