Leicester College

The college caters for all student needs from Apprenticeships to University entry level programmes. Students are able to study subjects ranging from Child Care to Mechanical Engineering. To give you some idea of the different proportions of students, in 2011 the college had:- 670 learners studying university-level courses- 2,000 Apprentices and Advanced Apprentices- 5,900 learners studied Skills for Life courses- 805 proceeding on to Higher Education after studying at Leicester College- 1,000 learners aged 14-16 years- 5,200 learners aged 16-18 years.

The college is a member of four National Skills Academy networks in the areas of:- Food and Drink Manufacturing- Environmental Technologies - Retail and Materials - Production and Supply.

Leicester College's main Abbey Park Campus was opened on 12 May 2009. This marked the culmination of an ambitious £48 million accommodation project which also saw the College complete extensive building works at its Freemen's Park Campus and refurbishment of St Margaret's Campus.

Abbey Park Campus: Features four floors of modern teaching facilities including a 140-seat drama studio, science labs, dance studio, music studio, language lab, dental and childcare training facilities. It is also the HQ of the College's Technology and Engineering Centre which is based opposite the main campus buildings.

Freemen's Park Campus: The vocational home of the College, Freemen's Park has a professional Hair and Beauty Salon, working kitchens which supply a silver service restaurant and Construction workshops where learners train in plumbing, woodwork and brickwork. A Food Manufacturing Innovation Suite was also recently added.

St. Margaret's Campus: The creative heart of Leicester College. This Campus is where courses in Art and Design, Fashion, Computing, Media and Photography and Print take place, with the appropriate supporting facilities on hand.
