Kirklees College

Kirklees College came into being in August 2008 through a merger between Dewsbury College and Huddersfield Technical College. Based in the heart of Yorkshire, Kirkless College has several centres across the Kirklees area serving the local population, communities and businesses.

Both Dewsbury College and Huddersfield Technical College have enjoyed healthy pasts and, through the Kirklees College venture, hope to enjoy a successful future together. Following the collaboration, Kirklees College is now one of the biggest colleges in the country with a vast range of courses and study options to choose from. The Dewsbury centre has three campuses in and around Dewsbury, including the Wheelwright Centre, which incorporates The Batley School of Art and Design. The Huddersfield Centre is based at New North Road, Huddersfield. However, a new campus is being constructed just off Manchester Road, adjacent to the River Colne, slightly outside of the Huddersfield town centre, at a projected cost of £85 million. Kirklees College can offer students a variety of options to help consolidate key skills through education. Options include: - Develop new practical skills at Courses for 14-16 year olds and Full-time/Part-time Further Education courses.

The college offers unrivalled learning resource centres (LRCs) to help maximise students' potential and enhance their learning experience within a welcoming and vibrant environment. Kirklees offers a Media equipment loan service, whereby students can loan state-of-the-art media equipment including laptops, camcorders etc. Across the colleges various centres, students can utilise the flexible learning centres, IT facilities, libraries and bookshops made available by the college.
