About Glyndŵr University

Background and History

The roots of Glyndwr University can be traced back to 1887, when the Wrexham School of Science and Art was opened. The academic institution went through a series of changes, prior to becoming a full member of the University of Wales in 2006. It was only in 2008 that Glyndwr University was officially named and granted degree awarding powers.
