About The University of Exeter
The University of Exeter is spread over three campuses, two of which are situated in Exeter and one near Falmouth, Cornwall. Streatham Campus, the largest of the Exeter- based campuses, is home to the majority of subjects and just a 15 minute walk from Exeter city centre. St Luke's campus is home to the Medicine, Dentistry and Sports faculties and is located a 25-minute walk from the city centre. The Cornwall campus is a two hour drive from Exeter in Penryn and also offers a range of degrees.
Background and history
The origins of the University of Exeter can be traced to various educational institutions established during the mid 19th century. In 1922 the Royal Albert Memorial College became the University College of the South West of England, which made education available to students in the South-West, preparing them for external degrees of the University of London. The College gained its independence in 1955 when it received its Royal Charter and became the University of Exeter.Location and accessibility
Rail: Exeter has two railway stations: Exeter St David's (main station) and Central. The Streatham Campus is a 10-minute walk from Exeter St David's Station. Bus route D can be taken from Exeter Coach Station to Streatham campus and St Luke campus. The Cornwall campus is in Penryn, which has its own station. From Truro, trains to Falmouth stop at Penryn.
Road: From the M5 leave at Junction 29 (Exeter airport) and follow signs to the city centre. Then follow signs to the University.
The Disability Resource Centre offers individual support for students with specific learning, physical or mental health difficulties.

Faculties and Departments
The University of Exeter is split into six different schools and colleges: The Business School, the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences, the College of Humanities, the College of Life and Environmental Sciences, the College of Social Sciences and International Studies and the Medical School.Academic Strengths and Research Profile
Exeter has been ranked first for Business, Accounting Finance and Management in the National Student Survey. The university was ranked in the top 200 in the world for Arts and Humanities. The majority of subject areas have a national or international research standing, with 17% of research rated as world-leading.Tuition Fees
Undergraduate fees:Undergraduate fees are currently set at £9,000 for UK/EU students. Fees for international students and postgraduates vary, for more information it is advisable to contact the university directly.
Financial Support
For students whose declared household income is below £25,000, partial fee waivers and fee reductions are available. If eligible, these partial fee waivers will be applied for each year of undergraduate study. A variety of means-tested bursaries and sport and music scholarships are also available.
Facilities at The University of Exeter
Academic Facilities
There are seven libraries spread over three campuses. The main library on the Streatham campus is open 24/7 for most of the year and offers a wide variety of books and learning resources, PC workstations and a multimedia suite. The law library and research commons are also on the Streatham campus. St. Luke's library also offers IT facilities and study spaces. A wireless network is available from a range of locations on the Streatham and St. Luke's campuses. There are two libraries in Cornwall, which offer a range of books, journals and IT facilities.Other on-site Amenities
The Exeter campuses provide theatre and sports facilities such as sports halls, climbing walls, swimming pools, squash courts and football pitches. There are various food outlets and shops and the Students' Guild runs a bar and nightclub on the Streatham campus. The Cornwall campus also offers catering and shopping facilities and a sports centre.Medical and Social Care
The Streatham and St. Luke's campuses have a medical centre and Streatham campus also offers a counselling service and children's day-care facilities. Students in Cornwall should register with Penryn Medical Practice. The Chaplaincy also offers support to students.
What's on in the Area
Exeter has a variety of cafes, restaurants and pubs and the new shopping centre has a range of 60 new shops and restaurants. For arts and cultural events, the Exeter Phoenix, Westpoint Venue and the University's Great Hall offer a good selection of concerts, exhibitions and live music. Nearby Exmouth boasts long sandy beaches and is perfect for watersports enthusiasts and sunbathers. Exeter is also close to the sweeping bays, dramatic cliffs and tiny fishing villages of Cornwall.
Moving On
The Careers Service offers a range of information and resources on a variety of career and employability topics. Students can receive advice on planning careers, looking for jobs, writing CVs, preparing for interviews, finding work experience and internships and attending training and events.
