By investing over £130 million in its campus and facilities over the last decade, the university has consistently scored highly in student satisfaction year after year.

With a focus on research in health and education, Edge Hill is positioning itself to become a major training centre for these professions.

Tuition Fees

Undergraduate fees are currently set at £9,000 a year. Postgraduate fees vary depending on the course of study. It is advisable to contact the university for further information or visit their website.

Financial support

A large number of students are eligible for the various means of financial support the university offers. Bursaries and non-repayable grants are available for students from low income households, and scholarships are offered to those with proven achievements in creative arts, performing arts, sport and volunteering.

Facilities at Edge Hill University

Academic Facilities

With £130 million already invested in the Ormskirk Campus, and a further £200 million set aside for future investment, students at Edge Hill enjoy some of the most cutting edge facilities available. A raft of newly opened, multi-million pound facilities include specialist amenities for those studying performing arts, health and social care and education. The library and IT hub are housed in the Learning Support Centre which has more than 160 workstations and 500 study spaces. The purpose built Performing Arts Centre was constructed in 2005 and contains two theatres, multiple dance studios and extensive facilities for theatre production. Other amenities of note are the £4 million Creative Media and Information Systems Technology building and the £14m Faculty of Health.

Other on-site Amenities

Opened in September 2011, the Student Hub enjoyed a £13.5 million investment to become the centre of student life at Edge Hill. As the home of Student Services and a variety of eating and drinking options, the Student Hub is a key resource for those who enjoy campus life to the full. Chosen to be a Pre-Games Training Centre for the London Olympics, Edge Hill has a range of professional sporting facilities over a 25-acre site. All amenities are fully accessible, and with over 30 sports teams, there's no excuse not to be involved at Edge Hill. If sport isn't your thing then the large Students' Union has a wide variety of clubs and societies catering for a diverse range of interests and activities. For those night owls who are too lazy to enjoy the night time delights of the NorthWest, there are a multitude of bars on campus and even an onsite nightclub.

Medical and Social Care

Medical provisions on Campus include a Health Centre, with a resident nurse, and a doctor's surgery which is open three days a week. The award winning student support team advises on all matters of student life and includes a dedicated professional counselling service. The university also has a Christian Union to support those of the Christian faith.

What's on in the Area

Students at Edge Hill are perfectly situated to make the most of what the North West has to offer. With both Manchester and Liverpool fighting for attention, there are countless museums, galleries and theatres to choose from, not to mention the excellent shopping and nightlife both cities can boast. If the hustle and bustle of the cities doesn't float your boat then the peace and quiet of the Lake District is only a short train ride away. Likewise, with Blackpool close at hand, a trip to the beach is only a short journey away.

Moving On

With an award winning Careers Service, Edge Hill provides ample resources for its students to succeed in the world of employment. In addition to the careers fairs and international employment opportunities offered, 75% of degree programmes involve the attainment of a professional qualification, hence making Edge Hill students better prepared than most to tackle life after graduation.
