Established in 1961, the University of Warwick sits on a 700-acre campus between the city of Coventry and the county of Warwickshire and is a highly respected university and is consistently ranked within the top ten universities in national league tables.
Background and History
Since its establishment in 1961, Warwick has undergone much development and transformation. In 1964, the university admitted a modest 450 undergraduates. Today however, the university's student population is more than 28,000. Part of the Russell Group, Warwick is now one of the UK's leading universities, with an international reputation for teaching excellence, ground-breaking research and solid links with industry.
Location and Accessibility
Road: Warwick is accessible from most corners of the UK.
From the north, exit the M69/M6 at Junction 2 and follow the A46 towards Warwick and Coventry S & E. At the roundabout, take the A45 towards Birmingham and then follow signs for the University of Warwick.
From the southeast, exit the M45 at Junction 1 taking the A45 towards Coventry. After about seven miles, you will reach the Tollbar End roundabout, at which point you can take the A45 towards Birmingham and then follow signs for the university.
From the south, exit the M40 at Junction 15 onto the A46 towards Coventry. After approximately eight miles, leave the A46 at the junction signposted University of Warwick and Stoneleigh' and follow signs for the university.
From the west, exit the M42 at Junction 6 onto the A45 towards Coventry. After about nine miles, take the turning signposted University and Canley' and follow signs for the university.
Rail: The nearest railway station for the university is Coventry, which appears on most intercity routes and so is easily reached. On arrival at Coventry station, follow signs to Warwick Road (around a two-minute walk) and then catch either the 12/12A or U1 bus to main campus.
Being a campus university, much of Warwick has good access. Many buildings around the university are level or have shallow gradients. Students with specific requirements are advised to note them on their initial UCAS application form. This allows Disability Services, part of Student Support Services, to discuss and organise any particular needs for students before their arrival at Warwick.

Entry Requirements
Successful degree course applicants will require at least three A-Levels related to their chosen subject. In particular, Warwick Business School asks for AAA plus AS Level B or A*AA. Chemistry requires AAB including Chemistry while Comparative American Studies asks for AAB, including English Literature of History, plus AS Level C.
