Address and Location
The University of Bradford is a public research university in Bradford, West Yorkshire. The university is set over two campuses; one in Bradford city centre, and a school of management on the outskirts of the town.
   ÂBackground and History
The university's origins date back to 1832 and the founding of the city Mechanics Institute. In 1882 the institute became Bradford Technical College and then, in 1957, Bradford Institute of Technology, allowing it to run Higher Education programmes. Construction of the Richmond Building, the largest on campus, began in 1963. A Charter of Incorporation was granted three years later, thereby creating the University of Bradford as it is today.
