Glyndwr University is in the flourishing city of Wrexham. It is within a very short distance of the North Welsh mountains and picturesque seaside towns. Wrexham has established transport links with the nearby cities of Manchester and Liverpool.

 

Background and History

The roots of Glyndwr University can be traced back to 1887, when the Wrexham School of Science and Art was opened. The academic institution went through a series of changes, prior to becoming a full member of the University of Wales in 2006. It was only in 2008 that Glyndwr University was officially named and granted degree awarding powers.

Location and Accessibility

By rail: The main Glyndwr University campus is located within easy walking distance of both the Wrexham General and Central stations.

By road: After joining the A483 from the M53 motorists will see signposts for Wrexham/Mold and Glyndwr University.

The Disability and Learning Support Team are available to provide help to any Glyndwr students who request it. The campus facilities are generally easily accessible, with ramps and rails in appropriate places.

Entry Requirements

The admissions staff consider each application on it's individual merits. While the minimum expected for acceptance onto most courses is 240 UCAS points, students without formal qualifications are regularly granted places.
