Located in the heart of the UK, Coventry University is set across a 33-acre, purpose-built campus in Coventry city centre. In recent years the institution has invested £160m on new facilities to cope with its steady expansion.

 

 

Background and History

Founded in 1843 as Coventry College of Design, in 1970 the college amalgamated with Lanchester College of Technology and Rugby College of Engineering Technology to become Lanchester Polytechnic. The institution was granted power to award its own degrees in 1992, assuming its current title of university.

Location and Accessibility

By Road: Being centrally-placed means Coventry is accessible from any direction. From London, take the M1 and then M45 and continue along the A45. From the south, take the M40 and then exit at Junction 15, following the A46 towards the city. From the north, exit the M1 at Junction 21 and then follow the M69. The university is well signposted from the city ring road.

By Rail: Coventry station is on all major intercity routes. On arrival take a taxi or bus to the campus, or walk the 15-20 minute journey along Friars Road, Little Park Street and Earl Street.

Accessibility: The university Disabilities Office is on hand to help students with specific needs. Located at The Hub, the office runs assessments for potential student needs, offers information on the Disabled Students' Allowance and liaises with relevant schools or departments where necessary.

Entry Requirements

Degree places at Coventry require students to have five GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above and three A2 Levels (or equivalent). Some courses may require specific qualifications. For more information check the Course section of the Coventry University website.
