Sheffield Hallam University has two campuses: City Centre and Collegiate Crescent, off Ecclesall Road. The City campus forms the heart of the university and contains one of Sheffield's most startling buildings: HUBs, home to Hallam's student union. Collegiate Crescent is home to specific courses including health and social care.

Background and History

Sheffield Hallam's origins go back to 1843, when Sheffield School of Design opened at the height of the industrial revolution. The institute gained university status in 1969 after merging with Sheffield College of Art and Design. Sheffield Hallam in its current guise was founded in 1992.

Location and Accessibility

By rail: Hallam's City Campus is across the road from Sheffield station. Leave the station via Sheaf Square fountain then cross Howard Street. Collegiate Crescent Campus is a 20-minute walk from the same; take a bus to Ecclesall Road from Leopold Street in the city centre.

By road: Both campuses are easily accessible via the A61. Parking at the City Campus is easy using the many nearby pay-and-display car parks. There is less space at Collegiate Crescent; it's advisable to leave cars in the centre of the city and commute to the campus by bus.

Accessibility: Most university buildings and facilities are wheelchair-friendly, and accommodation is provided for students with disabilities.
