By Rail: The university site is a 15-minute walk from Sheffield Station. Walk out of the station past Sheaf Square fountain. Cross the road on to Howard Street, past the Sheffield Hallam University campus and towards The Globe pub. Climb the set of steps that follow, cross the road and head up Surrey Street, past the Crucible Theatre to Sheffield City Hall. From here the university's departments are all a short walk away.
By road: Depending on direction, Netherthorpe Road and Hanover Way both lead directly to the university. Parking on-site is limited, so visitors are encouraged to find parking spots in the city centre. The multi-storey on Wellington Street is closest to the university.
Accessibility: Most buildings and facilities are wheelchair-friendly, and accommodation is available for students with disabilities.
Financial Support
A variety of scholarships and means-tested bursaries are available to undergraduates and postgraduates. Check the university website for more details.
The university's health centre is located on Gell Street. A multi-faith chaplaincy service is available on Glossop Road, and the students' union runs an advice centre to help students deal with all problems, from emotional upset to finding a part-time job.
West Street and Division Street provide a long stretch of bars, restaurants and famous live music venues. The city's indoor shopping centre, Meadowhall (/Meadowhell depending on your thoughts on shopping) is home to almost 300 stores for weekend visits. Outside the city, the rolling hills of the Peak District provide a perfect antidote to city life.
The university provides an excellent careers service, and fosters far-reaching relationships with local, national and global industry to create internship and employment opportunities for students.
